Sergei Bobrovsky is headed for his second trip to the injured reserve this season.

The Blue Jackets announced Monday they have placed the All-Star goalie on IR because of a groin injury. He is expected to miss four to six weeks.

Bobrovsky was injured Wednesday during a game against Winnipeg. He had been selected to play in the All-Star game in Columbus over the weekend, the first of his career, but was replaced by Blues goalie Brian Elliott after the injury.

"It's going to be a while," Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen told the Columbus Post-Dispatch after the game Wednesday, confirming the groin injury.

Earlier this season, Bobrovsky missed two weeks after fracturing his finger. He also sat out a month last season when he was placed on the IR with a similar groin injury.

The loss is a big blow to the Blue Jackets, who are in sixth place in the Metropolitan Division and will need a strong second half to make the playoffs.

Bobrovsky is 16-15 this season with a .913 save percentage and 2.85 goals against average.

Columbus called up 20-year-old Anton Forsberg from the AHL to fill the void in net for the time being.
