With another season down the drain, the Bears have decided to make a quarterback switch.

Backup Jimmy Clausen will start over Jay Cutler against the Lions on Sunday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Bears (5-9) have lost three games in a row, with Cutler throwing for six touchdowns and six interceptions during that stretch. He threw three INTs in Monday night's home loss to the Saints.

Chicago will miss the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season.

Clausen has started 10 games in his NFL career, going 1-9 as a rookie with the Panthers in 2010.
