Beeston re-ups with Blue Jays for 2015

Paul Beeston

After toying with the idea of luring Dan Duquette from Baltimore to be the team's new president and CEO, the Blue Jays have signed Paul Beeston to a one-year extension to remain the team's president and CEO. Beeston will then retire following the 2015 season, Rogers Communications announced in a release on Monday.

"I love this ballclub and the fans," Beeston said in the release. "I wake up every day thinking about the game and bringing another championship north of the border. I'm excited for the season ahead — we've got a great group of guys who are fiercely competitive and hope to be playing ball in October."
