Athletics' Sonny Gray leaves game with bruised ankle

The injuries kept piling up during the Athletics' game against the Rays.

Pitcher Sonny Gray left the game after five innings after he was hit in the leg by a comebacker in the fourth inning. The team diagnosed the injury as an ankle contusion.

In the first inning, Rays outfielder Steven Souza Jr. collided with Athletics catcher Stephen Vogt at home plate, resulting in Souza's leaving the game with a sprained left wrist.
