Athletics utilityman Ben Zobrist is on track to return to the lineup Monday after being placed on the 15-day disabled list with torn cartilage in his left knee, the San Francisco Chronicle reported Saturday.

Zobrist left the team's April 18 game against the Royals with soreness in his left knee and underwent arthroscopic surgery 10 days later. He began a minor league rehab assignment earlier this week.

Zobrist, 33, was hitting .240/.304/.400 with one home run and eight RBIs over his first 14 games this season. The two-time All-Star was acquired by Oakland this winter after he spent his first nine major league seasons in Tampa.
