Aramis Ramirez's 18th major league season apparently will be his last.

The Brewers third baseman told reporters Friday that he'll likely retire after the 2015 season. Ramirez, 36, has battled injury and seen his production decline the last two seasons.

He hit .285/.330/.427 last season, two years after he posted a .901 OPS and an NL-leading 50 doubles in his first season in Milwaukee.

The three-time All-Star has spent his entire career in the NL Central. He was called up to the Pirates in 1998 as a 20-year-old, and his best years came with the Cubs, as he posted six consecutive years with an OPS of .898 or higher from 2004-09.

He's set to make $14 million this season, the last in the four-year contract he signed when he came to Milwaukee.
