Ever wondered what a professional athlete's paycheck looks like? One Pirate has inadvertently surrendered his booty.

The public got an up close and personal look at Andrew McCutchen’s finances on Thursday when a Reddit user posted a photo of the superstar center fielder's May 15 pay stub online for everyone to see.

The original photo displayed phone numbers, voucher IDs, addresses and the last four digits of McCutchen’s bank account, though a censored version of the photo later appeared on Deadspin. It also detailed every addition and deduction of McCutchen’s $427,098.49 deposit for the two-week pay period from May 1-15.

The substantial salary should come as no surprise, as the former MVP and four-time All-Star signed a six-year extension with the Pirates in 2012 worth $51.5 million. It was surprising, however, to see that McCutchen surrendered nearly $400,000 in taxes.

Though the Pirates weren't pleased with the incident, McCutchen didn't seem too concerned.

“What Andrew earns under the terms of his contract is not a secret,” Pirates team spokesman Brian Warecki said in a statement, via the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “It is, however, disappointing that some individual concluded that it was appropriate to share the specifics publicly.”

The Reddit user claimed a friend found it during a tour of the visitor’s clubhouse at Wrigley Field where the Cubs hosted the Pirates for a three-game series last weekend. John Fuller, McCutchen’s publicist and founder of Full Athlete Marketing, doesn't believe that to be the case.

“I’m not sure we’re so convinced a fan tour is where that was found,” Fuller told the Post-Gazette.

“There’s a level of concern that has to come into play when personal information that isn’t normally something you’d make public gets posted all over the world wide web of the Internet.”

On the bright side, McCutchen's bad luck at the plate appears to be turning around. After batting .194 with just 14 hits in 72 at-bats in April, he's been batting .282 in May.
