Former Alabama quarterback Blake Sims went undrafted earlier this month, but he’ll still play professional football next season.

Sims, who threw for 3,487 yards and 28 touchdowns last season for Nick Saban after playing behind AJ McCarron in previous seasons, signed a three-year deal with the CFL’s Toronto Argonauts on Wednesday.

Sims had post-draft tryouts with the Packers at quarterback and Redskins as a running back, but left both franchises without a deal.

He's the second high-profile former SEC standout to sign with the CFL in recent days; Michael Sam joined the Montreal Alouettes last week.
