Adrian Peterson will skip Vikings OTAs, report says

AdrianPeterson - Cropped

The Vikings will be without star running back Adrian Peterson when organized team activities begin Tuesday, according to the Pioneer Press.

After missing 15 games last year because of a child abuse incident, the eight-year veteran remains unhappy with the way he perceives he was treated by the organization during the fallout from the case. He was reinstated by the NFL last month.

Peterson has three years and $44.25 million left on his contract with the Vikings, including $12.75 million in 2015, none of which is guaranteed. It is still unknown if and when Peterson will report to the team, but the Vikings can fine Peterson up to $72,920 for missing mandatory minicamp next month.

The Vikings remain disinterested in trading Peterson at this time, so this one could play out all summer. He'll forfeit $250,000 and in doing so, sends a message about his desired future.
