Vikings coach Mike Zimmer reiterated his stance toward Adrian Peterson on Wednesday, but did so in bold terms.

The running back missed his second day of OTAs and Zimmer laid out simple options for his running back.

"Adrian, he’s really got two choices. He can either play for us or he cannot play. He’s not going to play for anybody else. That’s just the way it’s going to be," Zimmer said, via the Star Tribune.

They are bold words from Zimmer, but nothing different from what he's said in the past. The coach has said all off-season that the Vikings will not trade Peterson. Their best chance to trade him would have been before, or during, the NFL Draft.

Zimmer added that he doesn't know when Peterson will come to OTAs. He also didn't seem concerned with Peterson's absence.

“He has missed a lot of OTAs over the course of his career. I’m not worried about it. I got 89 guys out here that I’m coaching and trying to get better. So it is what it is.”

There's been plenty of drama surrounding Peterson's status with the Vikings. In February he opened up about his situation to ESPN, saying he was "still uneasy" about returning to Minnesota.

A lot of time has passed since, and Zimmer and general manager Rick Spielman met with Peterson at his home outside Houston in March. The drama with Peterson and the Vikings will continue as long as the veteran running back continues to not show up to team activities.
