Adam Ottavino is staying positive, even though his season likely is over.

The Rockies closer probably will need Tommy John surgery. The team doctor discovered partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in Ottavino's right elbow.

"Baseball is my love. So I will do everything I can to come back," Ottavino said to The Denver Post. "I've accepted it. I'll take it head on."

Ottavino was placed on the disabled list last week after being diagnosed "right triceps inflammation."

He will meet with Dr. James Andrews, who was performed the surgery on numerous other players, including the Mets' Matt Harvey.

"This isn't a death sentence," Ottavino said.
