Jurors in the Aaron Hernandez murder trial were shown phone records and texts on Friday, but some text messages had been deleted.

Hernandez and co-defendant Ernest Wallace are charged in the shooting death of Odin Lloyd on June 17, 2013. Their trial is being held in Fall River, Mass. Hernandez is a former tight end for the New England Patriots.

Hours before Lloyd's death, Hernandez and Wallace called each other multiple times, according to phone records presented to the jury. Hernandez also called Wallace repeatedly from more than one phone the night of June 17 after police had asked him to come to the station while they investigated Lloyd's death.

Lloyd had been dating the sister of Hernandez's fiancee, Shayanna Jenkins, who has been granted immunity in the case.

A Sprint phone company employee, Ricardo Leal, testified for more than three hours on Friday.

Leal told the court that several text messages that appeared in records were not on the phone. Between June 11 and June 17, text messages that were not deleted revealed a sense of urgency from Hernandez to have Wallace in Massachusetts to plan Lloyd's killing.

Leal also testified that records showed Wallace's phone was used to call Lloyd five times between 1:22 a.m. and 2:32 a.m. ET on June 17. Video surveillance previously shown to the jury showed Lloyd getting into a sedan at 2:32 a.m. outside his home.

Lloyd's body was found later that evening in an industrial area near Hernandez's home in North Attleboro, Mass. Police found a key in Lloyd's pocket that tied him to a vehicle Hernandez had rented.

Phone records also showed that Wallace had called Oscar Hernandez, not related to Aaron Hernandez, several times. Oscar Hernandez has been tied to a gun found in Aaron Hernandez's home. He pleaded guilty last month to lying to a grand jury, witness tampering, obstruction of justice and a gun conspiracy charge.

Friday was the 16th day of testimony in the trial.

Another trial awaits Hernandez after the current one. He was indicted in two 2012 shooting deaths in Boston.
