UPDATE, 9:30 p.m.: Rodriguez hit his second home run of the night, and career homer No. 658, in the sixth inning off the Rays' Ernesto Frieri.

Much to the chagrin of Yankees management, Alex Rodriguez keeps moving up MLB's all-time charts.

A-Rod hit a towering home run off Rays starting pitcher Nate Karns in the second inning Friday night at Tropicana Field.

According to the MLB the blast was estimated at 471 feet and is the longest in the majors this season.

With the home run, Rodriguez also scored his 1,924th career run, passing Derek Jeter for ninth place on MLB's all-time runs list.

If Rodriguez ties Willie Mays with 660 home runs, then Rodriguez would be in line for a $6 million bonus from the Yankees, a bonus the club may not pay.
