Adelaide vs Hawthorn, Thursday Night 7:50pm, Adelaide Oval

Richmond vs West Coast, Friday Night 7:50pm, MCG

Carlton vs Port Adelaide, Saturday Afternoon 1:45pm, MCG

In the same time slot two weeks ago, Carlton showed some signs of life. A spark that had them on the front foot and ready to embrace the future. Port are gettable, but it’s a question of if they remain in their slump. Geelong out ran and out worked them all night and it would be the height of embarrassment if Carlton did the same.

Greater Western Sydney vs North Melbourne, Saturday Twilight 4:45pm, Spotless Oval

No Mumford, No Davis, No Patfull. The Giants in the space of a few hours are decimated and their great start to the year looks shaky all of a sudden. It’s the kind of game North should win but find a way not to. If they blow this there must be serious repercussions.

Western Bulldogs vs Brisbane Lions, Saturday Night 7:45pm, Etihad Stadium

Should be a freewheeling contest. The Lions have worked out the only way to remain somewhat competitive is to take the game on, and they’ll know the Dogs are prone to running out of gas when the game is played at that pace. However, the home factor should get the Dogs over the line here.

Geelong vs Melbourne, Sunday Afternoon 3:20pm, Simmonds Stadium

Corey Enright’s 300th game will be celebration for a player who’s never sought out the limelight and played a key role in the Cats’ recent era of greatness. The Cats have a chance to go 7 and 5 after a poor start to the year, and the Dees despite playing okay footy in patches, still look a little lost when the game is on the line.
