Woosha: Blues won't target LeCras

West Coast coach John Worsfold doesn't believe Carlton will focus all its energy on Eagles' star forward Mark LeCras when the two sides meet at Subiaco on Saturday night.

LeCras wrote himself into Eagles' folklore last weekend when he booted 12 goals in a much-needed win over Essendon, becoming just the third West Coast player to kick more than 10 in a game alongside Peter Sumich and Scott Cummings.

But Worsfold doesn't believe Carlton will become LeCras centric on Saturday night, saying the Blues will concentrate on their own game as they look to improve on some dismal recent form that's seen them lose four of their last five games.

"He (LeCras) hasn't kicked 12 goals five weeks in a row," Worsfold said on Wednesday.

"If teams, their only option is to put an extra player down in front of him, that's going to free up one of our players."

"We'll just be aware they are strategies teams can use on any given week rather than just thinking about Mark LeCras."

"We didn't focus heavily on Mark LeCras last week either, game's like that just happen."

"The boys will know the way we want to play and what we're looking to do (and) Lecca's no smaller or larger focus than any other game."

Coming off encouraging performances against Adelaide and Essendon after an 84-point belting by Collingwood in Round 14, Worsfold said the key thing he was looking for from the rest of the season was maintaining intensity.

"Our focus really has been on specific areas of the way we want to play and maintaining intensity consistently," Worsfold said.

"We got blown away by Collingwood but prior to that against some of the other top sides we felt we really challenged them - Geelong, the Saints, the Bulldogs for a half."

"So we're really keen not to have those big games (before) we fall away, that's been a big focus."

"So Adelaide, the effort was right up there, and Essendon as well, so that's the aim again this week."
