According to Sportingbet's AFL analysts, Selwood picked up another two votes from his side's win over West Coast at the weekend.
While the Brownlow Medal voting is done by field umpires on a 3-2-1 basis, Sportingbet have developed a structure to predict the overall winner using a rolling leaderboard and analysts providing their own votes weekly.
The analysts couldn't split Selwood and Cats teammate Steve Johnson, who both picked up two votes apiece on a weekend no player got a clear three votes.
And while dual Brownlow winner Gary Ablett picked up no votes last weekend but remains favourite, Collingwood's Scott Pendlebury has moved ominously into the top four after a starring role in the Magpies' win over Richmond.
The analysts also award half votes when they can’t split certain performances.
It's a system that has proven to balance out over the course of the season and provide a more accurate prediction of a player’s final vote numbers.
