Sportal and Sportingbet's weekly leaderboard has Johnson at the top - Sportingbet's analysts believing the Geelong star is the highest polling player at this stage of the season.

Sportingbet's analysts award votes for every home and away game of the season to help provide a guide to how the umpires might be awarding their 3-2-1 votes which will eventually determine the Brownlow Medal.

Sportingbet awarded Johnson another three votes for what they thought was a best-on-ground performance in the Cats' win over Hawthorn on Easter Monday.

Ablett also picked up the maximum three votes from the weekend, and according to the analysts he sits just a vote behind Johnson.

St Kilda forward Nick Riewoldt continues his impressive start to the season, and was given 2.5 votes for his effort in the Saints' upset of Essendon.

Sportingbet analysts award half-votes in games where there are several star players, or no clear standouts which means any one of a number of players may catch the umpires' eye.

They believe the half-points even out over the course of the season to provide a more accurate overall picture of the Brownlow race.
