Which Movie Would Fit Your AFL Club?

16:9. Gary Ablett - Die Hard

So it made us think. What movies would go best with your footy club? Here’s what we came up with, but if you think of any others feel free to comment below or hit us up on Facebook or Twitter.

Adelaide – Basic Instinct
Have shown flashes of brilliance but the overall package is a bit of a let down.

Brisbane – The Indiana Jones Movies
Had three hits in a row but the fourth was a stinker.

Carlton – Fatal Attraction
A film about dealing with some pretty heavy repercussions after being caught cheating.

Collingwood – The Fugitive
This movie once featured the biggest train wreck ever seen. That was until Eddie McGuire ditched Mick Malthouse and handed the reins to Nathan Buckley. Runner Up: Once Were Warriors. Any movie about tats and getting your teeth punched in is a winner with Pies fans!

Essendon – The Neverending Story
So many options! Drugstore Cowboy, The Hangover, Horrible Bosses, Total Recall and we can’t forget Orange County, just for Hirdy! We’re going with The Neverending Story, though, ‘cause we’ll still be hearing about all this for years to come. That and we can’t work out what’s more traumatic. Seeing the horse give up and die in the movie or watching Luke Darcy interview Dean Robinson. Say that again!

Fremantle – Hall Pass
The Dockers took their hall pass and ran with it as they cheated on poor old Mark Harvey and lured Ross Lyon over for some extra stimulation.

Geelong – The Mighty Ducks
Surely the inspiration for the Geelong midfield.

Gold Coast – Die Hard.
A film about a balding bloke on a holiday being relied on to get the job done over and over again. Runner Up: The Power Of One.

GWS – The Goonies
A film about a bunch of kids working together as a team to defeat bad guys. Something to aspire to perhaps?

Hawthorn – Iron Man
Just like Iron Man star Robert Downey-Junior, the Hawks were big in the 80s, turned into a basket case and have done their best work since 2008.

Melbourne – Dredd
The feeling most Demons’ supporters get before each weekend.

North Melbourne – Kangaroo Jack
It’s about everyone’s favourite marsupial, it’s not very good and is about as funny as James Brayshaw. Enough said.

Port Adelaide – Snowtown
Hard to pick which is the more infamous location in South Australia.

Richmond – Titanic
A permanently sinking ship with a stirring theme song. Runner Up: District 9.

St Kilda – The Matrix Reloaded
This movie is painful to watch and had just one bright moment in its entire running time.

Sydney – Wall Street
“Greed is good,” declared Gordon Gecko as he hungrily acquired expensive things. Sound familiar?

West Coast – The Wolf of Wall Street
Sticking with the Wall Street theme, this movie is about a successful organisation being undermined by a few blokes seriously out of control. Could you imagine a Cuzzy and Jordan Belfort party!

Western Bulldogs – Dude, Where’s My Car?
The common refrain of Western Bulldogs fans forced to park 10 kilometres away from Etihad Stadium.
