Fox Footy had set up a camera in his family living room to capture the life-changing moment, however, as the selections passed by and White’s name had not been called, the angst began to grow.
Finally, the Saints called White’s name with pick 40 and what followed embodies the spirit of AFL – proving that it is so much more than a game to so many people.
While his entire family jumped and cheered in elation, White broke down in tears with his mother and father by his side.
People from across the country felt the emotion with White, and he’s sure to have a few more fans in the wake of his heartfelt reaction.
