Menzel has been the centre of attention in AFL communities this week, and made his mark against the Magpies kicking his side’s first goal in the contest. 

The Magpies look to be all over the Cats, however this moment meant a lot for the Geelong club and it's fans. 

Menzel’s courage and determination to continue his AFL career after so many set-backs has both inspired and amazed, and the script could not have been written any better for the 23-year-old. 

Menzel finished with four goals and 20 disposals, and took a brilliant hanger to cap of an incredible return to footy on a disappointing night for the Cats, as they went down 110-62 and are set to miss the finals for the first time since 2006.
