Video: Cheeky Riewoldt gets it his way

Jack Riewoldt

During the Tigers’ Elimination clash with the North Melbourne Kangaroos on Sunday afternoon, Riewoldt used a cheeky tactic to gauge how much goal-kicking space he had to work with.

Riewoldt, who had kicked three goals to half-time, placed the ball on the ground and stepped out to demonstrate to the umpire that the men on the angle mark were too close.

The tactic was made famous by Geelong’s Steve Johnson a number of years ago, with the industrious Cat aware that if he hadn’t placed the ball down, the umpire may have called play on.
