Video: Biting claims dampen Eagles victory march

The Eagles defeated the ladder-leading Dockers by 24 points, however Masten's involvement in the tussle could be costly for West Coast's finals hopes heading into September.

Masten and Suban were involved in a small altercation late in the third term of the Derby, where the pair wrestled on the ground for a number of seconds after a strong Suban tackle.

The pair got to their feet, with the umpire’s microphone clearly picking up Suban saying, “He f***ing bit me!” repeatedly.

The umpire immediately suggested that there would be an investigation into the claim, with the AFL confirming on Monday that they would be examining both broadcast and non-broadcast vision of the incident to determine the best course of action.

The players may also be interviewed in order to help create a bigger picture of the allegation.

Another West Coast player, Chris Lewis was whacked with a three-match ban in 1991 after being found guilty of biting Todd Viney, but since then there have been no such problems in the AFL.
