Richmond has added more youth to its already young playing list by promoting Irishman Jamie O'Reilly and Victorian Robbie Hicks onto their senior list for the rest of the 2010 AFL season.

O'Reilly and Hicks will replace injured duo Nathan Foley (ankle) and Adam Thomson (groin) who have been both ruled out for the remainder of the year.

Richmond's first-ever Irish recruit O'Reilly, listed at 184 cm and 78kg, is known for his ability to run and carry the football off the half-back line.

O'Reilly was spotted by Richmond recruiting manager Francis Jackson playing Gaelic football for County Down and after impressing in a three-week trial in July last year, he was selected at pick 70 in the 2009 Rookie Draft.

The Irishman has been working closely with Richmond development coach Tim Clarke and has played 11 games in the VFL for the Coburg Tigers this season.

The 18-year-old Hicks is a dangerous small forward who could offer competition to Robin Nahas for a spot in Richmond's forward line.

Impressive form for Vic Metro and the Calder Cannons at the under-18 level last season led to his selection at pick seven in last year's Rookie Draft.

Hicks played the first eight games of the season in the VFL Reserves featuring in the best players on six occasions. As a result, he was promoted to the Coburg seniors and hasn't missed a game since, booting 12 goals from six matches.
