What happened
Richmond is in big trouble with only one win from their first four games of the AFL season after Collingwood easily beat a listless Tigers team by 38 points on Friday night.

The Pies booted the first four goals of the match and were never troubled for the rest of the game on a greasy night at the MCG.

The lead was 17 at the first break, 28 at half-time and blew out to 42 by the last change.

Only a seven-goal final term restored some scoreboard respectability for the losers.

Dayne Beams, Scott Pendlebury and Jesse White kicked three each for the Magpies, while debutant Sam Lloyd booted three for Richmond.

The major disappointment was Tigers captain Trent Cotchin who was kept to just 13 touches by Collingwood tagger Brent Macaffer.

At least first-gamer Sam Lloyd (22 touches) showed something.

Richmond last beat Collingwood in Round 19, 2007.

The wins means the Magpies improve to a 2-2 record.

Fallout
Former Sydney utility Jesse White was impressive up forward for the Pies, taking seven marks and kicking three goals, but star teammate Travis Cloke continued to struggle, going goalless in his 200th game.

Richmond defender David Astbury doing well to limit his impact, but Cloke is clearly well of his match-winning form of previous seasons.

For the Tigers, competing in the 2014 finals is starting to appear more unlikley than likely. Only two teams in the past five seasons have slumped to a 1-3 record and recovered to make the top eight.

It's the sort of listless performance that, in the past, has had Richmond fans threatening to destroy their membership by putting them in the microwave.

Hope he's in my fantasy team
Dayne Beams had a match-high 30 touches and Dustin Martin (29) and Daniel Jackson (27) were Richmond's busiest players.

What's next
An encounter between the Lions and Tigers at the Gabba on Thursday night will open Round 5 - The way Richmond is playing, that's a danger game.

The Magpies take on the improving North Melbourne at the MCG on Easter Saturday afternoon.
