Tigers leave Foley out of final side

Richmond have cruelly left Nathan Foley out of their team to face Carlton in their blockbuster elimination final at the MCG on Sunday.

Foley has played in the Tigers' last 16 matches of the season after fighting back from an Achilles injury which ruined the second half of his 2012 campaign and continued to sideline him in the first third of this season.

But the Tigers have made a clear statement that there is no room for sentiment in finals and Foley exits the team along with omitted ruckman Orren Stephenson and Matt White who has succumbed to a hamstring injury.

Foley and Stephenson have been named as emergencies along with Matt Dea who was included in Richmond's initial squad of 25 but failed to make the final cut.

The Tigers have settled on Chris Newman, Jack Riewoldt and Shane Edwards as their inclusions for the huge clash while Shane Tuck, Jake King and Ricky Petterd retained their place in the team after originally being named on Richmond's extended bench.

The Blues have made three changes with Nick Duigan, David Ellard and Andrew McInnes all making way for veteran trio Chris Judd, Brock McLean and Heath Scotland.

Troy Menzel, Tom Bell, Levi Casboult and Dennis Armfield all survived the cut and have been named on Carlton's bench.
