Sydney fans have responded to weeks of mindless booing of the champion Swan by cheering loudly every time Goodes, a four-time All-Australian, took possession of the ball.
The booing of Goodes has been controversial and has polarised opinion through AFL and community circles with some believing that the jeering directed at Goodes during matches is racially motivated.
This has however been fiercely denied by a number of media personalities, who claim that Goodes brings such animosity upon himself in the manner in which he behaves on the ground and plays the game.
One thing is for sure though, as long as Goodes is a Swan he will be cheered loudly - when he plays at the SCG.
