What happened

The Tigers are in the eight – ahead of Collingwood on percentage – with just one round left and will be assured of playing finals this year if they can upset Sydney at ANZ Stadium next weekend.

Jack Riewoldt was best on ground with six goals.

Richmond kicked the first five goals of the match to lead by 34 points late in the first term.

St Kilda fought back with four unanswered goals to get the margin back to seven points at the 11-minute mark of the second term.

But that was as close as the Saints got for the rest of the match.

The Tigers steadied to lead by 20 points at half-time, and they extended the margin to 44 points with a five-goal third quarter.

The Saints won the final quarter, kicking three goals to two.

St Kilda's much-hyped debutant Spencer White made the most of his limited possessions to boot three goals.

Hope he's in my fantasy team

Richmond's Bachar Houli had the most disposals in the match with 29.

David Armitage had 26 possesions for the losers.

What's next

The Saints finish their 2014 campaign against the Crows at Adelaide Oval next Sunday.

Richmond's match against the Swans kicks off at 4.40pm on Saturday.
