In his return match from the injury, Richards looked to stamp his authority on the game, but will almost certainly come under scrutiny from the AFL’s Match Review Panel after this high bump on Hawthorn superstar Sam Mitchell.
The bump and concussion have been strong talking-points in AFL circles of late, with the league coming down hard on players who chose to bump rather than tackle and inflict injury on an opponent.

Richards’ good record at the tribunal may help his sentence to be reduced, however the incident was met with fierce opposition from the Hawthorn players with a melee ensuing in the aftermath.
Mitchell stayed down momentarily, however got to his feet and continued to take part in the game.
