What happened
The game started as a tight affair with both sides trading goals before former Richmond man Matt White put the Power ahead by eight at quarter time with his second goal of the first term. From there it was all Port Adelaide with Brisbane powerless to stop the home side's onslaught as they kicked four straight goals to go into half-time ahead by 42 points. Things only got worse for the Lions in the second half as Jay Schulz began to run amok in the Power's forward line as he ended the game with seven majors while Travis Boak was at his dominat best, enjoying 41 possessions as the Power booted 12 goals to three during the last two quarters to cruise to a massive 113 point win.

Fallout
Where do the Lions go to from here? They are winless to start the season and judging by their performances so far it is hard to see them staying too far off the bottom of the table for much of the season. The news just gets worse for Brisbane with Matthew Leuenberger helped off the ground with a suspected achilles injury late in the second quarter while Pearce Hanley went down with a hamstring injury. Port Adelaide meanwhile have now won three of their opening four games and are looking the goods this year under Ken Hinkley.

Hope he's in my fantasy team

Boak (41 touches), Kane Cornes (38 touches) and Brad Ebert (35 touches) all saw plenty of the ball while Schulz had a field day in front of goal. Tom Rockliff was the only notable fantasy points winner for the Lions thanks to his 31 disposals and 14 tackles.

What's next

Port Adelaide heads west for a Saturday twilight match against West Coast at Patersons Stadium. The Lions welcome struggling Richmond to the Gabba for an Easter Thursday night encounter with massive consequences for the loser.
