Griff good to go

Bulldogs captain Ryan Griffen has been declared a near certainty to lead his side against North Melbourne on Sunday. Griffen has been sidelined with back soreness for much of the pre-season, but his inlcusion will be a welcome boost for the Dogs. "He has to train today, which we're confident he'll get through, and all being well he'll play," coach Brendan McCartney said. "It will be good to have him back."

Sun to debut

Kade Kolodjashnij will make his debut against Fremantle this weekend. Taken with pick five in last year's draft, Kolodjashnij racked up 45 disposals in the reserves last week. "I suppose it gave me some confidence playing some good games in the NEAFL," Kolodjashnij said. "It's really helped me a lot just experiencing playing with senior bodies and getting some match fitness under belt, so it has been really good playing reserves."

Motlop up and runnin

Excitement machine Steven Motlop has returned to the training track following knee surgery. The star Cat will be looking to return to the senior side in the next month. "He didn't complain of any pain or anything like that, so everything is going to plan there," club physio Mike Snelling told CatsTV.
