Knights stays a Crow

Adelaide star forward Chris Knights has signed a new deal with the club, agreeing to a new contract upon returning from an overseas trip.

Knights endured an injury interrupted season managing only five games for the year and there was speculation the talented goal sneak would be returning home to Victoria.

The 24 year-old joins veteran Michael Doughty and young guns Brodie Martin and Ricky Henderson in signing on with the club, with the trio also putting pen to paper last month.

Knights told the club he was delighted to have inked a new deal and is looking forward to a successful future.

"I'm pleased it has all been sorted out," he said on the club's official website.

"I was keen to continue to be a part of the Adelaide Football Club. I can see success on the horizon, I love the environment and I've made close friends in the Club."

Crows operations general manager Phil Harper said Adelaide is expecting Knights to bounce back from a disappointing season and star in the Crows' next campaign.

"The club is extremely pleased to have Chris re-commit despite substantial offers to return home to Melbourne. He is a key player for our team and plays the very difficult half forward role as well as anyone in the competition."

"He is injury free now and we are confident of a big year from Chris in 2011."
