Forward Lindsay Thomas has withdrawn with a knee injury from the North Melbourne line-up to take on Richmond at the MCG on Sunday.

The Kangaroos selectors have settled on Gavin Urquhart, Aaron Edwards and Nathan Grima to fill the three compulsory vacancies left by Thomas, Drew Petrie (foot fracture) and Cruize Garlett (calf).

Jamie Macmillan, Leigh Harding and David Hale are North's emergencies.

Richmond has made three changes also with Luke McGuane, Richard Tambling and Ben Cousins the replacements for the suspended Daniel Jackson, Ben Griffiths who has a shoulder injury, and Ben Nason who's suffering from general soreness.

The Tigers' emergencies are Dean Polo, Jayden Post and Alex Rance.

Shaun Grigg, Jarrad Waite and Kane Lucas are Carlton's inclusions for Sunday's early clash with the Sydney Swans at Etihad Stadium.

The Blues were unable to consider Ryan Houlihan who has a knee injury, while Bret Thornton and Setanta O'hAilpin have been dumped.

Sydney's made one change with Martin Mattner in for Trent Dennis-Lane.

Fremantle's been bolstered by the return of Luke McPharlin, Greg Broughton and Nathan Fyfe for Sunday's home game against the Demons.

Making way are Nick Suban, Tim Ruffles and Clancee Pearce.

Looking for its first win at Subiaco in six years, Melbourne has made two changes with Cale Morton and Rohan Bail in for Jack Trengove (hip) and Kyle Cheney.
