Jonathan Brown questions the integrity of Gary Ablett

Ablett played in the Suns' first two games of the season but hasn't featured since due to an ongoing shoulder complaint.

But Brown believes that because Ablett was cleared to play in Round 1, it's time for him to stand up and play through the pain barrier.

“I believe now that Gary needs to get back on the field," Brown said on Fox Footy's On the Couch.

“It’s time for Gary to stand up and part of that is playing with injuries.

“Obviously he’s been cleared to play, because he was cleared in Round 1. Doctors would not be clearing him if he wasn’t sound.”

Gold Coast coach Rodney Eade admitted over the weekend that the young Suns players had approached Ablett over when he would be returning.

However, Ablett's manager Liam Pickering said he was unsure when Ablett would return but no pressure would be placed on the dual -Brownlow Medallist's shoulders.

"Gary wouldn't be pressured into doing anything," Pickering said.

Ablett's injury return is listed on the Suns website as indefinite with Gold Coast hoping for a return after their bye round.
