But more than that, Brown, the son of former Fitzroy player Brian, was always a good bloke too, 
someone who’d be happy to have a beer with you down at the local. As others struggled with the fame and attention a footy career brought, Brown was always the consummate pro and never once fell into the trap of becoming an AFL dickhead. 

And while, his record almost guarantees him AFL legend status – three premierships, two All Australians and 594 goals – it will probably be his character and humour over a 356-game career that will be remembered more fondly.
