What happened

The win takes Adelaide inside the top eight for the time being, ahead of Gold Coast's clash with Collingwood.

The Giants battled hard, but did not use the ball cleanly. In fact, they scored 10 straight behinds before booting their first goal.

But the win could come at a cost, with experienced onballer Scott Thompson suffering a hamstring twinge and veteran defender Ben Rutten subbed out with concussion.

Gun midfielder Patrick Dangerfield also sent a scare through the Crows camp when he left the field after twitching his knee.

But he returned later in the match and moved freely.

Eddie Betts starred again for the Crows with five goals while Rory Sloane and Brad Crouch were prolific in the midfield.

Shane Mumford (38 hit-outs) and Rhys Palmer (10 contested posessions) were best for the losers.

The surging Crows face Hawthorn at Adelaide Oval next Friday night in a blockbuster, while the Giants travel to Perth to face Fremantle in the Sunday twilight match.
