Hunt's rock n roll bender a career ender?

Freddie Mercury and Karmichael Hunt

We guess Queen's Freddie Mercury ticked that one off years ago.

The most famous rock n roll party of them also – according to legend – featured a display of thieves, ogres, transexuals, ballerinas and even trolls.

It prompted one guest to declare: "It was wretched excess that I'll probably go to hell for."

He got off lightly compared to the players Hunt has tied to the train tracks following his own weekend or two of wretched excess at the end of last season.

"Most of the players were using the cocaine during the night," Hunt said in testimony (obtained by News Corp) to Queensland crime investigators.

"I recall that there was myself and (five players are named) and I think (another player) at the apartment.

"I had used a bit of cocaine…and was vaguely aware that most people there were using cocaine during the night.

"As all the cocaine was gone we had to get a top-up the next morning."

Hunt's body count stopped at five current or former Suns players and one NRL star.

They've all been given up and now await their names to be aired and the condemnation to begin.

As for Hunt?

The AFL gave him much more than he gave them - and this was his wonderful parting gift.

The NRL is copping it by association.

But what's rugby's excuse?

He's part of the Wallabies' World Cup train-on squad and still, technically, a chance of playing at rugby's showpiece event in a few months' time.

Why the Australian Rugby Union allowed Michael Cheika to pick him in the first place is a mystery.

The even bigger mystery is why he's still there despite these latest drugs revelations.

Over to you Bill Pulver.
