Hill set to face Magpies

Fremantle will almost certainly welcome back speedster Stephen Hill for their blockbuster clash against Collingwood at Patersons Stadium on Saturday night.

Hill had to sit out the Dockers' match with Gold Coast on the weekend due to a quad injury he sustained as a result of a training mishap late last week and coach Ross Lyon said he would be a welcome return.

But Lyon was hesitant to make too many changes to the side that easily defeated the Suns.

"He jumped a hurdle today (in his recovery), he's got a few more to jump," Lyon said of Hill.

"With a team that did so well, we really don't want to make any changes unless we have to."

Lyon admitted they still had a big challenge on their hands to beat the Magpies without Nat Fyfe, Matthew Pavlich, Aaron Sandilands and Kepler Bradley, but looked to their dominant effort against the Suns as proof they can get by minus those key players.

"They responded magnificently in what is a really difficult road trip, six-hour flight back yesterday basically," Lyon said on Monday.

"We were vulnerable in theory but those that were picked played their role and gave great effort and were really uncompromising in the way they went about it so that's what we need this weekend.

"We understand Collingwood's a challenger, as we see ourselves are challenging to play finals as well.

"Both teams have had personnel challenges but at four (wins and) two (losses), at home, we're looking to bring the effort we did last week and see where that takes us."

Containing Travis Cloke will go a long way to helping the Dockers secure a win on Saturday night but Lyon said it wasn't only up to defenders Luke McPharlin and Zac Dawson to stop Collingwood's star key forward.

"We'll need a lot of help with everybody, [the team will struggle] if you just leave it to one, and the midfield they walk out, I mean (Scott) Pendlebury is a beautiful deliverer of the ball, so we've got to be really mindful of that," Lyon said.

The Dockers received a boost on Monday with youngsters Hayden Crozier and Cam Sutcliffe both re-signing with the club until the end of the 2015 season.

Lyon said Fremantle's ability to stave off the go-home factor, considering Crozier is Victorian and Sutcliffe is South Australian, was a big vote of confidence in the club.

Meanwhile, Lyon said injury-plagued youngster Anthony Morabito would start training soon after undergoing his third knee reconstruction but was still a while away from playing at WAFL level.
