What happened

Fremantle has moved back into fourth spot on the ladder after a 58-point win over the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba on Sunday.

The Dockers will take on Port Adelaide at Patersons Stadium on Saturday afternoon to decide which club finishes fourth and gains the crucial double chance in the finals.

The contest was over inside the first term, with Fremantle leading by 28 points at quarter-time and extending that to 53 points just before half-time.

Fremantle crumbers Hayden Ballantyne and Michael Walters enjoyed a busy afternoon in the Brisbane sunshone with six goals between them.

Dockers captain and spearhead Matthew Pavlich was a late withdrawal because of a quad injury.

Retiring Lion Ash McGrath kicked a goal from a set shot during the final quarter in what was his 214th and final AFL match.

McGrath is the last remaining player from Brisbane's triple premiership-winning side of 2001-2003 match.

Fallout

The Dockers were hoping to blow the margin out as much as possible in order to boost their percentage above Port Adelaide's.

But as it stands, the Power's percentage is 132.4, just ahead of Fremantle's 131.9.

That means Fremantle has to win next week to keep fourth spot.

Hope he's in my fantasy team

Lachie Neale and Stephen Hill each gathered 26 possessions for the winner.

Tom Rockliff was best for the Lions with 44 disposals.

What's next

The Lions have a mighty challenge in their final game of 2014, heading to Simonds Stadium to play Geelong on Saturday night.

The Dockers' match against Port Adelaide starts at 1.10pm (WST).
