Geelong midfielder Paul Chapman has escaped suspension and will be free to take on Carlton on Friday night if he doesn't contest his striking offence against Bulldogs tagger Liam Picken.

The Match Review Panel charged the 2009 Norm Smith Medallist with a level two offence for his hit to Picken's body in the first quarter of the 101-point demolition of the Dogs on Saturday night.

He receives 125 demerit points for the offence but should he opt to accept will receive a 25 percent discount, meaning he can escape with a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record.

Picken can also accept a reprimand for his strike on Geelong's Joel Selwood in the same game, with that offence given the same rating as Chapman's.

It means that Picken will be free to play Sydney at the SCG on Saturday night as long as he accepts the MRP's decision.

West Coast rookie Koby Stevens can also accept a reprimand for his front-on contact offence on Port Adelaide's Danny Meyer, meaning that the tribunal will most likely not sit on Tuesday night.

St Kilda's Lenny Hayes can accept a $900 fine for making negligent contact with umpire Jason Armstrong during the third quarter of the match against North Melbourne on Sunday.

The report laid against Fremantle's Zac Clarke for engaging in rough conduct against the Sydney Swans' Ben McGlynn was dropped, as was the report against St Kilda's Jason Gram for making forceful contact from front-on against North Melbourne's Cruize Garlett.
