MATCH PREVIEW: Sydney v North Melbourne

The 383-game veteran's one-match ban was overturned after an AFL Tribunal jury took 10 minutes to decide Harvey's contact with Geelong's Joel Selwood was not forceful.

The general consensus among footy fans is the right decision was reached, although the AFL needed to overhaul its judiciary system.

Selwood gave evidence during the 100-minute hearing that he felt the contact, during the second-quarter incident in last Friday night's semi-final at the MCG, was minimal.

"I felt a trickle. I wasn't sure if it was sweat or blood," Selwood said.

Harvey said later he owed the Geelong skipper a beer.
"I was side on. My shoulder, my elbow was tucked," Harvey said.

"I thought I did most things right.

"Neither of us hit the deck."

Friday's incident marked the 100th match that Selwood had left the field due to the blood rule.

The tribunal accepted the argument that Selwood was more prone to bleeding due to the build up of scar tissue on his eyebrows.

Photographic evidence was submitted showing Selwood had suffered cuts above his right eye in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
