Big-mouth Tiger tweet

Jack Riewoldt let the cat out of the bag a day early with his revelation on Twitter that team-mate Reece Conca is the Rising Star nomination for Round 9.

Six months after the Tigers themselves jumped the gun on the morning of the national draft in all but confirming their intentions to select Conca, Riewoldt took to Twitter to show his appreciation that Conca's 14 kicks and nine handballs had been rewarded with the nomination.

"Got my wish peeps, reece conca rising star r9!!!," Riewoldt tweeted.

But within an hour the reigning Coleman medallist had quickly moved to 'clarify' his earlier post.

"According to our media people it appears that I have spilled the beans a day early!! Gee I hope Reece gets rising star is what I ment (sic) to say," Riewoldt wrote.

He also followed it up with: "Also this Wednesday's powerball numbers are 5 12 16 21 34 and PB 8 cheers."

Team-mate Daniel Jackson couldn't resist suggesting 'that's gotta be a fine'.

But the AFL saw the lighter side of things, with media manager Patrick Keane tweeting: "Reece Conca the Rd 9 NAB AFL Rising Star, with a super 23 possession game in the Dreamtime match against Essendon. jackriewoldt08 is a fan."

Jackson is himself no stranger to getting himself in trouble via social media after criticising the match review panel last year on Facebook following his third suspension of the season.

"Dan Jackson is sick of playing a pussy sport and so is retiring in favour of playing a real man's sport. Perhaps I'll be better suited to the NRL?" Jackson posted before later removing it.

On draft day last November the Tigers set up a profile for Conca on their website but inadvertently made it available to the public.

The club denied that it had done so because it intended to pick him that evening but when Richmond's turn came at pick No.6 it was Conca who they selected.
