The repentent Richmond ruckman will today find out if he will face the wrath of the match review panel or be sent straight to the AFL tribunal.

"I reckon they'll send it to the tribunal. I reckon the (MRP) punishment is not enough. I think the most he will get at the MRP is four weeks," Hall said.

Hall is no stranger to the AFL tribunal. His infamous 2008 king hit on West Coast's Brent Staker will be remembered as one of the most brutal acts in modern footy.

Playing for Sydney at the time, Hall was rubbed out for six weeks.

He said the incidents were similar in that both he and Vickery were provoked.

Hall was adamant Vickery needed to be suspended for five weeks, which would end his season.

"It was not good, not good at all," Hall told RSN radio.

"I understand he was reacting to something else, but you can't be doing that sort of thing.

"I think he has done the right thing by coming out and apologising for it and telling the fans it's unacceptable, because that's what it was.

"He'll cop his fair whack."

Hall was also involved in a controversial incident in 2010 that saw the premiership player apply a 'choke hold' to North Melbourne defender Scott Thompson.
