A tale of two Riewoldts

While Ross Lyon will be delighted if St Kilda captain Nick Riewoldt kicks a bag against Richmond on Saturday, the Saints coach apparently won't mind at all if his cousin Jack does the same for the Tigers.

Desperate to build on his narrow lead over Bulldogs veteran Barry Hall in the race for the 2010 Coleman Medal with just two rounds to play, Riewoldt (J) is desperate to break a scoring slump.

The 21-year-old has scored just 10 goals from his past five outings, though he's sure to take some positives from his most recent game against the Saints in Round 11 when he bagged six on Zac Dawson.

Interestingly, Lyon, speaking to the media at Moorabbin on Tuesday, said a repeat dose from the Tigers spearhead would be OK by him.

"I'm happy for Jack to kick six and the Tigers to kick nine, that's what happened last time," said Lyon with a shrug.

Lyon said Dawson would be selected as long as he gets through training this week.

The 24-year-old has missed the club's past two matches after breaking a bone in his hand against Essendon in Round 18.

"He's going to train and I think he's going to be available," said Lyon.

"I was hopeful last week."

Lyon said Riewoldt (N), who was put through an impromptu fitness test at half-time of last Sunday's clash with North Melbourne, had pulled up well in his sixth game back following delicate hamstring tendon surgery.

"He's certainly an important resource," said Lyon of Riewoldt who finished with seven goals against the Kangaroos.

"I think he'll continue to build match condition every minute he plays."

"He'll certainly go in this week injury-free and fit."

"We like our players being in form and he was and is but ... his (seven-goal haul) was the result of a dominant midfield and backline giving him a lot of opportunities."

Lyon said he thought the Saints were performing well short of their best.

"Our aim is to fix our football because, at the minute, we reckon we're about 60-70 percent roughly and we need to find that 30 percent in a hurry," he said.

"That's what all our energies are going into."
