Biography

A running half back, Raines struggled to break into Richmond's best 22 for a number of seasons and was traded to Brisbane at the end of 2009. He had a quiet beginning to his Lions career in 2010, playing just 10 matches. Raines had his best season for Brisbane in 2011, finally coming out of his shell and delivering some of what he has been promising. He played the Lions first seven games of the season, before being sidelined with concussion and then winning back his spot in the side to play the final 10 games of the season. Raines needs to continue to be the ball magnet that he became last season and take it up another level in 2012. Look out for another good season providing that injury does not have a say in things.
