Defender Lukas Markovic found his way in to the senior side last year due to Brian Lake's extended injury run. He was thrown in the deep end, asked to take the toughest defensive match-ups, however he proved his ability in the position and performed well. He was in the top ten at the club Best and Fairest last year which demonstrates the appreciation the club has of his value. Should Lake not be able to regain his spot in the side, Markovic's development will continue to be a source of positivity at the club.
