Tigers v Saints, snippets

TURNING POINT:
There were plenty of twists and turns in a game where the lead changed hands 11 times. With just one point separating the teams at the final change, the game was up for grabs. Enter Stephen Milne, who booted three goals for the term, his seventh putting the Saints in front again by five points. Richmond then had three shots on goal in the dying stages but failed to find the big sticks.

CLASSIC GRAB:
Chris Newman isn't renowned for his high marking but his leap over Saints' veteran Robert Harvey in the second quarter when running back with the flight of the ball was one for the highlight reel.

STAR MAN:
Milne was at his electrifying best, producing his best match haul since kicking 11 against the Brisbane Lions in 2005. His 7.3 came from 17 touches and six marks but his pressure to hold the ball in the forward line also went a long way to winning best afield honours.

ABSOLUTE SHOCKER:
It was early in the piece but cost the Tigers a goal. Working their way out of defence, Chris Newman attempted a short pass to Kane Johnson just 15m away. Instead of finding the target, the ball floated over Johnson's head and into the waiting arms of Nick Dal Santo, who sprinted clear to nail a goal from 30m out.

WHAT A GOAL!
Nathan Brown's goal sense has never been in question and he showed once again why he's one of the best in the competition in front of the big sticks. With the ball on the deck inside the Tigers' forward 50, Brown swooped on it before picking it up one-handed and throwing it on his boot to register six points. All this while being tackled and slung to the ground by Jason Gram.

UNSUNG HERO:
Richmond ruckman Troy Simmonds was in rare form against the Saints. His 32 hitouts were more than Michael Gardiner (15) and Justin Koschitzke's (12) combined. Not only that but the majority of them went straight to a team-mate. Simmonds racked up 20 disposals and kicked two goals to add to a good night's work.
