Swans v Crows - snippets

TURNING POINT: Adelaide was well beaten for most of the first quarter but came to life with three-goals in three minutes. The flurry of majors gave the Crows a handy edge and the confidence to keep the Swans at arms length for the rest of the clash.

CLASSIC GRAB: Bernie Vince showed that size isn't everything. The onballer leapt from behind to take a mark over 'Spider' Everitt during the first quarter.

STAR MAN: A heroic Jason Porplyzia scored his five goals after struggling with his troublesome shoulder during the first quarter. His three-goal burst in the second term proved the difference between the two sides.

ABSOLUTE SHOCKER: A lack of concentration from one of the goal umpires cost the Swans a point. He didn't give the behind the 'all-clear' and as a result it was an official score. The umpire was fortunate the game wasn't decided by a small major.

UNSUNG HERO: Crows full back Ben Rutten kept Barry Hall goalless until the final four minutes of the clash. Hall is down on form but the All-Australian defender never allowed him to gain confidence in his comeback game.
