Saints turn to Watters

St Kilda are expected to unveil Collingwood assistant Scott Watters as their new senior coach on Sunday morning.
The Saints sent out a media release late on Saturday announcing an 11am press conference on Sunday where Watters is set to be confirmed as Ross Lyon's replacement after the former coach sensationally walked out on the club to join Fremantle last month.
Watters is believed to have beaten Alan Richardson and Ken Hinkley for the gig.
Watters has been an assistant at the Magpies under Mick Malthouse since 2009 after steering WAFL club Subiaco to consecutive premierships in 2007 and 2008.
He also played 109 matches for West Coast, Sydney and Fremantle between 1989-1996, but has distinguished himself as a coach since taking over from Peter German at Subiaco in 2006.
Watters' move to St Kilda means that Collingwood's coaching staff will undergo a significant restructure after former senior coach Mick Malthouse left the club and another assistant Mark Neeld was appointed as Melbourne coach.
