St Kilda have completed their coaching structure under new coach Scott Watters with Danny Sexton and Troy Schwarze the latest appointments.
Sexton is new defensive coach and former player Schwarze will coach the midfield, the Saints announced on Friday.
Sexton, opposition line coach for the past two years, had seven years playing at Port Melbourne before going on to coach Diamond Valley, Calder Cannons and Northern Knights before joining St Kilda as a development coach in 2006.
"Danny is a very insightful coach and will play an important role in the coordination of our defensive strategies," Watters said.
"He has a strong background in player development and is well respected by the playing group."
Sexton joins Adam Kingsley (forwards coach) and Dean Laidley (midfield coach) as one of St Kilda's three line coaches with a replacement opposition analyst to be hired this month.
Schwarze, 29, played 71 games for the Saints (1999-2006) and has coached Sorrento to three premierships since joining the Sharks in 2007.
"Troy is a young, energetic and successful coach. He has a modern, holistic approach to coaching which complements our vision for the football department," Watters said.
Schwarze joins fellow former players Aaron Hamill (offensive) and Max Hudghton (defensive) in completing newly-created specialist coaching roles.
"Aaron, Max and Troy will play an important role in our restructured coaching team. Their knowledge and technical expertise will be invaluable to our player list and provide additional mentoring for our younger players," Watters said.
The three specialist coaches will work closely with the respective line coaches during the weekly training program and on match days.
