Pies pull Presti

Pies pull Presti

A groin injury has forced veteran defender Simon Prestigiacomo to withdraw from the Collingwood side to take on Carlton at the MCG on Saturday.

The 32-year-old has been replaced at full-back by Nathan Brown who will be making just his sixth appearance at AFL level for the season and first since the Magpies' Round 9 clash against Geelong.

Prestigiacomo pulled up sore after Friday's training session at Gosch's Paddock.

Interestingly, small forward Paul Medhurst trained with the senior squad despite not being named among the emergencies for Saturday's match.

Medhurst has been in good form in the VFL and was expected to be pushing hard for promotion this week.

Meanwhile, Ryan Bastinac has been dropped from the North Melbourne side to take on the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Bastinac had played in all 17 games for the Kangaroos in his debut season after being picked up with selection No.21 overall at last year's national draft from the Dandenong Stingrays.

The Kangaroos selectors have made four changes in all, bringing in Scott McMahon, Lindsay Thomas, Sam Wright and first-gamer Marcus White for Bastinac, Gavin Urquhart, David Hale and the injured Ben Warren.

Key forward Liam Jones, whose father Bob played 20 games for St Kilda in the late 1980s, will make his debut for the Western Bulldogs.

Jones replaces the injured Callan Ward in the only change for the fourth-placed Dogs.

The Richmond line-up has been given a major overhaul for Sunday's early assignment against the Crows at the MCG.

The Tigers selectors have nominated Kel Moore, Matt White, Daniel Jackson and Will Thursfield to replace Dean Polo, Robin Nahas, Jayden Post and Alex Rance, all of whom have been dropped.

Rance, Troy Taylor and Robert Hicks are the Tigers emergencies.

Jack Gunston and Chris Schmidt have been named for Adelaide in place of the suspended Graham Johncock and Tony Armstrong who's been omitted.

Fremantle has been bolstered by the return of David Mundy and Chris Tarrant for Sunday's Western Derby.

Justin Bollenhagen is a third inclusion for the Dockers who have dropped Dylan Roberton and lost Rhys Palmer and Clancee Pearce to injury.

The West Coast selectors have brought in Pat McGinnity and Tom Swift for Adam Selwood (shoulder) and the suspended Ashton Hams.
